Emerald is hard at 7.5 to 8 but it fractures along its own inclusions, so we will not set one in raised claws however good it looks in a photograph. Bezel set in platinum, where the metal takes the knock instead of the stone.

Treatment is always stated. Most sapphire and ruby on the market is heat treated and some is fracture filled, which is a materially different thing sold under the same name. This stone is minor oil, and it comes with its report.

- Yes. Platinum 950 is resizable by any jeweller, and we will do it free for as long as you own the ring.
- Is engraving included?
- Yes, inside the band, laser cut where the ring is made rather than sent out to a third party. There is no charge and it does not add to the lead time.
- How long will it take?
- 14 to 21 days. It is made in your size after you order, not picked off a shelf, and that is the reason the widths and finishes are open choices.
- What if I get the size wrong?
- We replace it free. Order a free sizer first if you are unsure, and if the ring is a surprise, ask us and we will talk you through the ways to find out without asking them.
